Life in our house is about to change...we are about to be a family again...how I can't wait! With just a few days left before Jason comes home I have been getting things ready. Saturday Laurie came over and helped me prepare several meals to have in the freezer so I don't have to worry about cooking when Jason comes home but he can still have some of his favorite meals...we had a lot of fun and got a lot done since Riley took a two and a half hour long nap...we also baked cupcakes that I gave out as some holiday gifts...they were mighty scrumptious and we just might have swiped our finger through the batter to make sure they tasted good! I found these cute cupcake boxes at Macy's when I was home in Texas and just had to get them...thanks Martha Stewart...here's some pics of the cupcake gift boxes!

Saturday afternoon Jason's mom and Gaby came over to help get the house cleaned and boy is it clean...my mother-in-law has a true gift for cleaning and she gave my house some TLC that I have probably not extended to it in quite some time...probably the last "good" clean it will get before it's in someone else's hands! We also had to have some fun so Gaby helped me decorate the cupcakes and entertained Riley
Riley had a bad case of bed head...she likes to nuzzle her head into the bumpers in her crib and it does not bode well for her hair!

After all our hard work we had a great dinner at The Whole Hog and Riley ate her some bbq and entertained us with her smiles and giggles after dinner...we had a great time and got a lot done!
We were teaching Riley where her nose and ears and belly button were...she seemed to be getting it down pretty well...she does like to pick her nose after pointing to her nose..we'll have to work on that!
Today was a shopping day...we shopped 'til we dropped and Andrea came along for the ride...thank goodness she was there b/c Riley had several severe mood swings on this shopping trip due to a lack of a good nap...she was so tired but wouldn't succomb to napping in her stroller as there were just too many fun things to look at...she would go from being pretty fussy one moment to pure giggles the next...she kept us on our toes! We did good and we both got new outfits to greet Jason with and some other fun goodies along the way! I have to admit I am enjoying the sales this "recession" has brought us...there are lots of great deals out there! This week will be busy with Christmas parties...and then Jason's arrival home...we are all ready so we just need him home safe and sound now!
P.S. - Someone in this house is about to have a birthday...can't believe it!
