"Tick r theet"

We did quite a bit of "tick r theet'ing" this year and it was so much fun! After three rounds of trick or treating I think we are going to have to convince Riley this is an annual event rather than a weekly one...haha! She sure got the hang of it...the first go round we came home with no goodies, the second go round we came home with a few goodies, and the third go round we came home with a bucket FULL of candy and I'm actually sifting through it as I type to "take care" of anything that is not suitable for Riley!

Riley has mastered trick or treating so much that on a quick stop at the post office yesterday morning the postal worker happened to say "Trick or Treat" to us and Riley quickly replied with "tick r theet" and she was very obviously giving a look that implied she was waiting for candy...the sweet lady was so tickled she ran to the back and found some candy to give Riley...the girl is a ham I tell ya!

After our trip to the KC-10 Squadron for Trick or Treating Jason left town for a few days and Riley and I stayed busy...we have two friends that recently had little babies so we spent a couple of nights taking meals to them...and then Friday the festivities began!

Friday was PJ day at school for Riley and since footy pajamas are all she has we decided to sport her festive ones and just put some shoes on over the footies...haha!

Here is her before school picture...she was pretty stoked!

After nap time she had a Harvest Festival at school where the teachers set up all sorts of games and activities on their playground and the parents could come to play and have fun too! Riley and all of her friends had picked and painted pumpkins the day before so they had their own little pumpkin patch and got to take home their pumpkins!

Here's Riley and I with her very special "punkin!"

We played and played and played...first she showed me the tunnel...

then the rocking horses...
we found lots of bubbles...

and she danced and sang "Row Row Row Your Boat" with her friend Christina!
She usually has a bit of a hard time with me leaving in the mornings but she recovers quickly and has SO much fun at school...sometimes when I go to pick her up she wants to show me what they did and we stay for a while and just play. They have done lots of new things just in the few short weeks Riley has been there...felt board stories, salsa dancing, playing with drums, cleaning with mops and brooms, and much much more!

After the Harvest Festival at school we met up with Amanda, Maddie, Jenn, and Cooper...all the guys were gone at the same conference so we had our own fun! We headed to downtown Vacaville for a Halloween stroll where all the local merchants and stores had candy and you just strolled through the streets...it was lots of fun!

Here's Riley waving to someone new...check out the precise posture of her hand...this is her wave...ALL THE TIME! I have no idea where it came from but it's so cute!
Amanda and Maddie...the shark!
Cooper and Maddie!
After the stroll we all headed to Chili's which was a gamble because we arrived precisely at all the kids bedtimes! There was a short wait and Riley had a bit of a meltdown because apparently Cooper had a sucker that she wanted but after we got settled in at our table and got some food in their bellies they all did really well! It was a fun night and I had another pooped penguin when we got home!
Saturday Riley and I ventured to the mall and then she got in a 3 1/2 hour nap...woohoo! She needed it because we had another full afternoon and evening of "tick r theeting!" Cooper wasn't feeling well so he didn't get to hang out with us...boo. We started with the parade on base with Amanda and Maddie...we actually missed the parade but hung out for the costume contest and grabbed some popcorn...
Maddie pulled out a new costume and was a cute bumble bee...
Here's my popcorn eating penguin...

Me and my little Happy Feet...check out her pose!

Now we're talkin'...it's time to "tick r theet"
After the "parade" we headed over to Katie's house and started our candy collecting! Riley and Maddie rode in style in the red wagon and they did great! They even survived a wagon rollover...uh oh!

They were both fascinated with eating candy and most of the time they had lolly pops in their mouth...we figured that lasted the longest and kept them happy which is why we ended up taking candy home!

She couldn't even put the lolly pop down to smile with her momma!

Towards the end Riley was ready to fore go the wagon and go on her own...

...and she walked with me all the way back to Katie's house!
I believe this was when the sugar high kicked in because she was just talking away and when I asked her if she had a fun night she yelled "yyyeeeeaaaaahhhh"...melted my heart!

Once we got back to Katie's the sugar high continued and Riley stood in the middle of her living room and put on a show for everyone...singing...dancing...pretending to change her diaper...you name it she did it!
Amanda and I finally decided we were pooped and we just put Riley and Maddie in the kennel and called it a night!

Just kidding...ha!
It was a great Halloween...sure sad Jason missed it but he got to hear "tick r theet" over the phone several times! Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!
