Celebrating Jersey Style...

Well we celebrated the Fourth but not in typical fashion!

Sally got to ride on Riley's back thanks to my super cool gold sequin belt while we got ready for our Jersey Shore themed party!

You see, military life has its ups and downs...the biggest "down" is of course deployments but second to that would be having to say goodbye to dear friends. At any given time we are either leaving great friends or saying goodbye to some and that was the case this 4th.

However, just because we have to say goodbye doesn't mean we can't make it fun!

The Rick family is moving to McGuire AFB in New Jersey so we decided to have a Jersey Shore themed party to wish them well!

Unfortunately their sweet baby ended up super sick the night before they party so Erin came solo, but she came in style!
Will and Ben didn't quite know what to think of all of us girls dressed so out of character!
Riley was dressed in her cute patriotic attire, but once she saw the pools in Ashley's backyard I came outside and saw this!
Love my naked girl!
So I quickly threw some sunscreen on this girl...
and put her swimsuit on and she was happy as a clam!
So here are me and the girls...Jersey Shore style!

We had so much fun dressing up and Nicki definitely stole the show with her get up...you go girl!

Here's me and Nicki!
And here's Nicki and her sweet boy Will...love that boy and love her too!
Riley pretty much spent most of the day in the pool...there were two pools and she peed in them both! Awesome!
She had fun eating...especially the yogurt fruit dip!
Here's all the kids...so cute!
We had a great time...but we are so sad to lose the Ricks!

Ironically we met Erin and Ben last fourth of July for the first time and then happened to run into them at church the next morning...she invited me to the Bible study and the rest is history! Last night we had fellowship night for Bible study as we said our goodbyes to Erin and another friend Melissa...so sad!

God is good though...not sure if I've mentioned this but our Bible study has been going on for over 5 years thanks to Ashley...but she's the only one that's been in it the entire time. So many have come and gone due to the military but there has always been a Bible study...I just think that's so cool!
