Parades...Bubbles...Presents

Well I think we had our last few days of rain last week...however it was pretty good rain in the middle of complete sunshine...craziness!
I was thinking about all my peeps in Arkansas this past weekend as my phone kept ringing with constant tornado warnings...I was so grateful to not be enduring that but definitely thinking about all of them. Our house survived too so that's good!
Once our few days of showers passed the weather became FABULOUS...and I think it might be October before we see rain again...we'll see!
We had a special delivery at our house last week...presents from Daddy!
Riley got a movie...Where the Wild Things Are...a favorite childhood book of mine and Jason's! The movie's sort of weird but Jason had rented it with Riley before he left and she just loves it...she was ecstatic that he sent it to her and she kept screaming "Daddy made it...Daddy made it"...it was just precious and we have now watched it approximately 5,000 times since it arrived in the mail.
She also read her card...her Daddy drew her a very special picture!

And she loved her Daddy bear...she has a bear from Balad, Iraq and now a second one from Al Dhafra, UAE...not that I'm hoping she keeps adding to her collection of Daddy bears but they are super special and she has enjoyed snuggling with it every night!
Jason sent me a sweet card and a very nice Rolex watch...so we both got spoiled!

One night last week I was itching to cook and Riley had been requesting spaghetti all week so I made chicken parmesan and spaghetti and had some girlfriends and their kiddos over...it was a fun night! The moms shared a bottle of wine and the kids played...and Riley refused to eat any of her spaghetti...ha!

Proof that while Riley wants to "watch Max" all the time she does not entirely pay attention becuase it was during this fun girls night that my friend Nicki realized I had been playing Where the Wild Things are in spanish and Riley hadn't even noticed...neither had we!

Friday was a big day at school for Riley...the morning started off with a parade to celebrate the Month of the Military Child...her teachers made her a shirt with her name on it and they were asked to wear their Daddy's hat...she ate up the opportunity to wear Jason's hat and she has not let go of it since...of course she had to add her own style and wear it like a little gangsta!
All the kiddos, teacher, and parents trying to wrangle the kids to line up for the parade...
Cooper was sporting his Daddy's hat too...cutie!
Marching, marching, marching...
Having fun...
Riley's class and teachers...what a fun group!
This is Riley and her buddy Austin...the hang out a lot together and just crack each other up!
Marching back to the room...
Later that afternoon her class planted flowers and I came back to help with that too...they got to scoop the soil themselves, plant the flower...
and then water them!
After her super fun day at school we met up with Patti and Brayden to play at the park...
Riley sported her shades most of the time...
After the park we had dinner with the Hollenders and called it a night!
Saturday we pretty much bummed around during the morning and did a lot of playing outside!
Riley insisted on wearing her Aggie gear...you go girl!
She rode her bike and blew lots of bubbles!

We pulled out the sidewalk chalk and played hopscotch...
And what would a morning outside be without a ride on the scooter?
Time to do some "art" with the chalk...
What a fun couple of days!
