I love the transition of seasons...as much as I love the summer with the sun, the warm weather, and the frequent trips to the pool I am ready for the Fall and it is safe to say it has arrived! I have learned over the years that I am a person of change so although the weather here is fabulous I am ready for it to change...sounds crazy but it's true! As I've mentioned before we haven't seen rain since we've moved here and there is actually rain in the forecast this week...the meterologists are having a hay day!
Here are few signs that Fall has arrived!
- We have not used our AC in over 3 weeks and the temperatures range over 30 degrees...highs in the 70's-80's and lows in the 40's...I've never seen anything like it! Today the high was 70, the breeze was crisp and cool, and the sun was out in all it's glory!
- The leaves are turning...I wasn't sure if I could get to experience that here but it looks like we will because I have noticed the leaves changing!
- The turkeys frequent the golf course each evening and we are still deciding which one we are going to feast on for Thansgiving...just kidding!
- I have began my pumpkin baking obsession...so far this past week I made Pumpkin Popcorn, Pumpkin Pie Crunch, Pumpkin Gingerbread (Tara's recipe), and Pumpkin Fluff...whew...it's just so yummy! As I sit her typing this I'm taking in the aroma of my Pumpkin Cinnamon Spice from Bath and Body Works...love it!
- We went to a pumpkin patch today and Riley got to wear her Uggs!
There are TONS of pumpkin patches around here because of the numerous amount of farms but we learned from friends about Impossible Acres and we went with a bunch of friends and had a blast! They had tractor rides, a big pumpkin patch, and a great petting zoo for the kids!
Riley wanted to check it all out before we ventured in on the fun!
At first Riley did NOT like the pumpkins...

This pic is for you Megan!
But she was OK sitting with Mommy so the pumpkins didn't attack her!
Once all of her friends arrived and they were not scared of the pumpkins Riley finally joined in on the fun. We showed her how to "pet" the pumpkins and she started calling them "apples"...whatever!
Before we knew it she was riding on them...
The kids had fun riding in and playing with the wagon...at first we thought Riley and Cooper could "share" the wagon and pull it together...
Not so much...sharing is super tough these days for both of them!
So we took them to a huge staircase of hay bales and let them run around!
And then we headed for the petting zoo...these baby goats were so cute and Jason wanted to take one home...just what we need...a goat!
I think the bunnies were Riley's favorite...she was so sweet with them and wanted to hold one all by herself!
After seeing tiny ducks, chickens, a pony, little piggies, and a calf it was time for a ride in a wheel barrow...
We then headed to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out a pumpkin...here's Jayden and Riley having fun!
