Family Time...

We had a great visit with the Purcell family...lots of home cooked meals, Florida sun, and just great family time!
Saturday morning Riley got to play with Sarah while Jason and I each got to take a run around one of the lakes...it was great!

After lunch...Spanish Bean Soup with Cuban sandwiches...we headed to Tampa to watch Jason's younger cousin Carter play in a basketball game...he is a very talented kiddo and it was great to see him play...it was a close game but his team pulled it out and won! Riley was VERY attentive the entire first half as she just sat in Sarah's lap and tried to figure out what was going on...the second half was a whole different story! She was tired of being contained so we walked the stairs, strolled in the stroller, and eventually walked up and down behind the bench so I could still watch the game...a girl always on the move! After the game we headed back to Lakeland to eat with everyone at Abuelos...good Mexican food and I had a mojito that was rather good as well! Here's a few family pics from dinner...as you can see it was a little windy that evening!

Jason's Uncle Ken and his family...

Jason's Aunt Cindy and her family...

Sunday the boys and girls split up and each did our own thing! The boys went to lunch and golfed that afternoon...

Jason's cousin Ryan and Jason's Dad...

The girls went to lunch at The Cheesecake Factory...so good! We then went shopping for the afternoon! Cindy was so sweet to push Riley all through the mall while Melanie and I got to shop and I actually did pretty well!

Once Riley got hold of this Hollister bag she was NOT letting go...she had a huge tantrum while getting her diaper changed because she did not want to let go of this bag!

After our fun filled afternoons we all met back up at G.G.'s for a huge home cooked meal for the whole family...roast, black-eyed peas, squash casserole, and mashed potatoes...it was all great!

Here's Riley with G.G. and Pa...although she was trying to escape!

Riley and Carter...

Apparently Riley felt the need for a workout after our huge dinner...there was a great play area right next to G.G. and Pa's and we spent lots of time there. This particular night Jason was out playing with her and she could actually hold herself up on the monkey bars...you can see they are both in awe!

Riley also LOVED the swing and we made several trips out to swing every day!

Monday morning Riley got to feed the ducks with G.G....this is a daily ritual and the ducks know it! There is one duck that she has named Donald that will actually let you touch it. Riley didn't quite know what to think..she was holding the bread but she did not feel the need to let go of it so the ducks just kept following her around...it was so cute!

Jason's cousin Ryan and his fiance have a weimaraner named Toby that loved Riley and she of course loves dogs so they spent some time together...on Toby's bed! He was so good with her and actually became protective of her...when Jason tried to discipline her Toby was all over Jason...it was pretty neat to see him take to her after only a few days!

Monday night we all went to dinner at Outback as it was our last night in town. Tuesday G.G. insisted that we not leave without having one more home cooked meal and we couldn't resist! She made fried chicken, potato salad, and corn...I have never had the luxury of eating home-made fried chicken and it was AWESOME! It was the perfect meal to fill up on before I napped on our 7 hour drive to Destin!

We had such a great time with all of the Purcell family and can't wait to see everyone again!

I have a picture of Jason playing basketball about the same age, exact same position for the camera and looks the same! Scary! Let me know if you want me to get it scanned so you can compare! Thanks for all of the photos.. It was a great trip down memory lane!

Hey guys--I know exactly the picture Michelle is talking about. Jason had a b-ball game the day Frank and I reaffirmed our vows at Shepherd of the Hills in 1991. Jason would have been 9 years old. Michelle took him to his game that morning and took pictures. I still have the picture. We'll dig it out when we get together again!
