Easter weekend...

Happy Easter from the Purcell family! We had a great Easter weekend full of visits from lots of family, birthday celebration for Jason, and Riley's second Easter which was a lot of fun!

Here's our family Easter pic compliments of none other than Megan!

And the whole family for Easter...I sure missed my parents and wish they could have made it in to spend it was us as well!

We started out with a family lasagna dinner Friday night since everyone had made it in town...Riley took her first stab at helping in the cooking process! Actually she was just enamoured with the step stool...let's be honest!
She also showed off how she loves to hug her daddy...especially when he pretends he's sad and crying...what a sweet girl!
After dinner she Doc was able to snack on Riley's piggies for dessert...she was giggling away!
Saturday morning we went to breakfast with Tom, Sydney, and Stella! Riley was having lots of fun rocking Stella in her carrier and Stella was all smiles...they were so cute together!
After breakfast all the boys went to the shooting range and after I cleaned out my office Riley and I met up with the girls at the Midtown Shopping center! Let me tell you Riley is such a little girl and I think it's the cutest thing, but sometimes it scares me too! The girl loves her a handbag...and not just one but as many as she can carry!
Once she had claimed Aunt Barbara's handbag as her own she was off in the complete opposite direction and Aunt Michelle went to supervise...I yelled "Bye Riley" and this is her waving and saying bye without even turning around...a girl on a mission!

Needless to say we had lots of fun shopping and eating at Pei Wei but I had to head out before the rest of the girls because there was too much going on for Riley to nap in the stroller and it was 2 pm and the girl hadn't gotten any shut eye...she was asleep before I even got the car turned on and we went back to DiDi and Doc's so she/we could nap!
Shopping girls and sleepy Riley!

After we all napped it was time to play! Riley loves to ride on the scooter and play ball so that we did and what a great day it was to play outside!

Riley also got her first experience with sidewalk chalk and she LOVED it! She started with sitting right in the middle of the birthday message Gaby had written for Jason so she was COVERED in blue chalk all over her cute outfit...I managed to hold back any thought of getting her away from the chalk to maintain the dignity of the outfit and let her get dirty and that she did! Eventually she decided it was fun to throw over her shoulder and down her back which is something she has always enjoyed doing but she was just getting chalk all over her bare skin back so that was the end of the chalk..for now! Thankfully sidewalk chalk doesn't stain because otherwise that outfit would have been donated to the dump...she had it all over...it was pretty cute!

We had a wonderful steak dinner that evening and stuffed ourselves once again! It was a lot of fun!

Easter morning Riley had a big basket from the Easter bunny...the mom/dad bunny and the Grammie/JoePa bunny! My mom made and painted a little Easter purse for Riley because she knows how much this girl loves them...so cute!

Riley had just woken up so she didn't give us much emotion as she perused through her goods but she definitely perked up at the sight of a dollar bill (SCARY) and she had lots of fun trying to put the eggs back together!
My little Easter bunny! The whole family attended our church for Easter and it was a GREAT service...Rick did such a good job of relaying God's grace and all that Christ endured for us...we so don't deserve it but how freeing it is to accept it!

After church we ventured out in the rain and cold (I hate Arkansas weather) to have brunch...notice the food theme for our weekend...we ate...A LOT!

During brunch there were two guys who played music for everyone to enjoy and after Riley was done eating DiDi took her up to listen to the music and they started playing nursery rhymes and suddenly Riley became the life of the party...here's the video footage...it was so fun!

After brunch we headed to DiDi and Doc's for an Easter egg hunt! At first Riley was more interested in checking out everyone else's Easter baskets but after her Daddy showed her how to hunt for eggs she quickly got the hang and had a basket full of eggs!

It was a great Easter!

After all the family left we napped since Riley was still sleeping!

After our nap Jason and I headed home to spend the last night in our home and get ready for the packers to come!
